Among the several technical departments, the Computer Engineering Department is an outstanding component of the University of Alcalá, with its headquarters located at the Escuela Politécnica Superior. UAH gets an annual turnover of some 30M€ in research funding both from industry and public administrations. The University of Alcalá actively co-operates with public and private partners from industrial sectors in the fields of Intelligent Vehicles and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
Role and Key Contribution to the Project
UAH coordinates WP1 (User needs and use cases) and will significantly contribute to the development of road user behaviour understanding and prediction systems for their integration in the external HMI (eHMI) and internal HMI (iHMI) for managing interactions with pedestrians and ego-driver, respectively. More specifically, UAH will work on the development of perception systems for detecting pedestrians with disabilities and on the development of driver behaviour prediction systems.
